Coffee Maker : Many coffee-lovers swear by the French
press method for brewing the most aromatic, flavorful
coffee. Chef'sChoice takes it to the next level
with this German-engineered 8-cup cordless electric
version. A single heat-resistant glass carafe is used
for boiling, brewing, and serving. The solid-state
heating element, with no exposed coils, boils water
faster than stove or microwave, and the single-pot
system means brewing occurs at optimum temperature for
maximum flavor - there's no cool-down from
transferring boiling water to a cold carafe. When
coffee is ready, just lift the carafe from the power
source for cord-free serving. Safety features include a
Lid Lock system for easy pouring, a cool-grip handle
with convenient on-off switch, automatic power shutoff
when water reaches a full boil, and double boil-dry
safety mechanism. Has easy-clean stainless steel filters
and cord storage in the base. Can also be used for
brewing tea. Comes with an extra lid for use as a hot
pot. 1,500 watts. 75 3/4" Dia. (7 1/2" with
handle) x 11 1/4"H. Imported.

This is a very well-designed coffee maker, and it makes the best coffee I have ever tasted. I also use it to heat water for my tea, since it is even faster than the microwave. This is also a terrific value for the money.

I bought this French-press coffee maker after doing research on the internet. I was not happy with the temp of the coffee from many coffee makers or other makers made weak coffee. So after reading many reviews, I decided to take a chance on this one. It is excellent and does exactly what I needed. It makes a hot, rich cup of coffee. I am so glad I purchased it!

I have owned several of these units and when I brag about their convenience, I just give one away...and buy another one.
Then I hear how much other folks love this French Press.
To me the best feature is the fact that, its the best of both worlds.
I can brew coffee or tea, which ever I care for.
I will always have one of these in my house!

My husband has wanted a press coffee maker forever. He is really liking this particular one. The heating unit heats water very quickly & brews a great pot of coffee. He has tried different beans & grinds & they have all produced a nice pot of coffee. He likes the idea of not using another pot to heat water on the stove. Clean up is not a big deal. He is very happy with his gift.

After reviewing what others had to say about their purchase, I thought I would give this a try.
As it turns out...they were right!! It is so easy and the coffee does taste so much better.
My husband wasn't too sure until his first taste and then he was sold as well. We love this french press and don't think we'll ever buy another coffee maker...try it, you'll truly enjoy your coffee!!

I recently purchased the french press and am very pleased with how quickly it makes coffee and how delicious the coffee is. I only wish that I had heard of it last year when I purchased a Cuisinart Coffee maker which is awful.

My husband purchased this for me about two years ago for Christmas and I must say it is my pride and joy.
As a former Barista at a nationally well known coffee chain, I missed having a well brewed cup of coffee for free so this French Press from Chef's Choice keeps money in my pocket and the taste of great coffee on my tongue:) I guard it like Fort Knox to make sure nothing happens to it. I would highly recommend this unit.

Have been enjoying our new press for about a week now. We were introduced to pressed coffee some time ago and the difference in flavor with this method is overwhelming, but the old method seemed a bit cumbersome. (heating the water in a seperate unit etc. etc.) With this unit, it's a snap, very impressed with how fast water is heated. Very simple operation and excellent results. It would be nice if it had a larger capacity, this is a personal thought and no way a detractor to the product.

We LOVE this french press. It heats the the water to a rolling boil in 4 minutes and is great for coffee or tea. We definitely recommend this press.

Works great for coffee (taste great) or boiling water for Hot Tea. Water boils very fast. Very convenient when you are in a hurry.

This product makes the best coffee I've ever had, bar none.
And it's the simplest French press available since water is boiled in the coffee pot itself.
Saying this, I must also caution buyers that a design flaw causes eventual (2-3 years) leakage in the bottom of the pot so that the unit must be replaced. But the brew is so superior that I've been willing to repurchase the pot numerous times (the last time, I had to wait 3 months for my order to be filled because of production problems--I bought 2 pots so that I wouldn't be without when the pot fails yet again!) This extravagance is worth it to me--once you've tasted coffee from this French press pot, you won't be satisfied with anything else!

I have had my Chef's Choice French Press for 3 years and it has been a great, reliable kitchen appliance! After 3 years of daily use, the press/plunger began to become worn so I contacted Chef's customer service. Excellent help resulted in the press being replaced as well as pick up and delivery! Great appliance - Great customer service!!

Not one of my better buys. It makes a quick coffee, but did not hold up well. After 6 months the plastic lid was cracked and the mesh/filter was useless and we ended up with an absurd amount of coffee grinds floating in our cup.
