I love this knife and it has now become my favorite for just about every food slicing job that I have. It's nice and sharp and I so enjoy using it. Will have to start replacing more of my old knives with a few more Wusthof knives.

Extremely pleased with the purchase of my Wusthof Gourmet Chef's Knife. I’m quite particular when it comes to cutlery and I can honestly say this is the best all purpose knife I own.
I'm planing on purchasing more Wusthof cutlery in the future.

I'm 79 years "young" and I am the cook at home. I have in my kitchen several good knifes for boning, slicing and pairing, but when I decided to buy this offer from Chef's, I never expected to receive so marvelous knife! When I use it I feel that my fingers are protected like never there was. My opinion is: sharper your knife, you will have less opportunity to cut your fingers. Just learn how to use your Wusthof Gourmet Chef's 8" and enjoy!
In the kitchen, I'm never without: A glass of wine...

I haven't used this knife yet. But if it is as fabulous as the 6"classic knife I ordered at the same time I will be nothing but happy with it. This are as far as I am concerned top quality knives that will last me the rest of my life. I had my fill of cheap knives trying to cut anything. I will be ordering more & highly recommend these knives & Chefs to anyone.

This is a good knife, but it weighs 2 oz less than my other 8" Wustof chef's knife. That's good for the person I am giving it to, but I was surprised it was so much lighter than my original knife.

These knives were such a surprise. I had no idea how much easier it would be to chop veggies with these knives. My wrists had been complaining a bit with my old knives, but these knives slice through easily.

I have recently started to increase my time in the kitchen. I needed a good knife. The chef's knife is very well made and has a nice balance to it. This balance makes cutting things from apples to dicing things like garlic extremely easy and effortless.

Loved this style knife for many jobs in this length. Keeps knuckles away from cutting surfaces, can be rocked from point to chop small veges or dice. This one and a 7" are my most used.

I have the 8" and the 10" Chef's knives, and they are my go-to knives. I find myself using them for everything, from cutting up cantaloupe to mincing parsley. The Gourmet line is affordable, and worth every penny!

If you buy only one kitchen knife, make it this one. Just be careful the first time you use it if you're replacing an old, dull one -- it's so sharp and well balanced that it's easy to nick a fingernail as you whip through the celery or onion that you're chopping. Also, I have somewhat small hands, so the great big chef's knives always scare me. This one is perfect.

Wusthof Knives

Don't think twice, just do it. The 10" Chefs' knife is the handiest piece of cutlery made. Sharpen it periodically with a few swift strokes of the steel. You can get it sharp as a razor if you crave that, but it's not necessary. I favor the boning knife and the 4" paring knife as the most useful companions. Get the fork, it is pricey, but will put a smile on your face every time you reach for it. Use it to stab a tomato, hold it over the gas flame, slice it in nice, thick slabs and serve it with the black sprackle still on, balsamic and a few green onion bits or chives.

I purchased this knife based on the Wusthof reputation for excellent cutlery, and I love it! I can't say enough about it, the craftsmanship is untouched and I have since given away all my other knives (and slowly but surely) replaced them with Wusthof. No knife stays sharp for ever, but this knife has the longest "sharp" life of any knife I have ever owned.
