get ready for heavy duty June 3, 2008
CookinAsheville from asheville, nc

"Yes, these mitts are heavy duty as promised. I bought them because I like the forearm protection. However, I find them too stiff and bulky. For me it is difficult to securely pick up pie plates, cake pans, and cookie sheets without the mitt touching and usually imprinting the food. I am going to wash them a few times with hopes of the situation improving."

Mitts are great....but May 25, 2008
Whatscookin from Winston-Salem, NC

"These mitts are super for heat resistance, and in fact do reach almost to my elbows, which is great protection. However, my hands are long and thin so my fingers rather swim in these. I find it difficult to grip smaller items without somehow getting my thumb in the mix, and find them not so flexible at the fingers. Perhaps they will get better as they are washed more."

Love These Mitts! December 22, 2007
CookinInTheBerkshires from Pittsfield, MA

"I bought these mitts several years ago and just took them out of the washer again! They are WONDERFUL and my lifesavers in the kitchen. They fit me just fine - I have what I would call average-size hands and arms and these keep me from worrying about hitting the oven shelf with my arm when I reach in. They are durable and easy to wash and dry. I'll be purchasing another pair, IF these ever wear out!"

Great Oven Mitts for Smaller Hands December 8, 2007
ET2568 from Dallas, Texas

"I think these are the best mitts I've ever used, but I guess I have smaller hands and thinner arms than the other reviewers here. For me, the mitts come all the way to my elbows, which is great for protecting against hot oven doors. They're also very thick and protect very well against high heats. They're just a little stiff initially, but are softening up and becoming more manageable with use. For ladies' hands or smaller hands, these are safer than a larger mitt would be as the better fit means more control over your hot pans. At $20, they're a heck of a deal and I love them."

works, but... November 14, 2007
thecooker from Piscataway, NJ

"I find these gloves to be heavy duty, however, I can't wear a sweater and use them! (the sleeve of the glove is too narrow to fit on my arms). I put them in for their first washing and one fell apart on me and is now unusable."

Limted use for large hands October 26, 2007
Kevco from Boca Raton, Fl

"The heat resistant properties of these mitts are more than adequate and the length is good for reaching deep into oven or grill. I have found that due to my large hands, the mitts are a bit restrictive and limit ability to grip smaller lips or handles. These would be perfect for anyone who likes to deep fry turkeys or need to reach in and adjust coals."
