thick, solid northern hardwood butcher-block top,
shelves, drawers, and center doors with an adjustable
middle shelf to store cookware and appliances. Includes
side knife block and satin nickel towel bar. Raised
panel design and big 2" heavy-duty locking casters.
Ships directly from the manufacturer in New York's
Catskill Mountains. Some assembly required. Standard is
131 lbs., 44"W x 28"D x 34.5"H with drop
leaf up and 20"D with drop leaf down. Plus is 178
lbs., 44"W x 38"D x 34.5"H with drop leaf
up and 30"D with drop leaf down. Made in the USA.

This cart is a good addition to any kitchen. I made the mistake in reading the write up, thinking that the cabinet was 28" deep, instead of the leaf up being 28" deep. I had the same one without the leaf and got ruined in the last flood. I needed a deeper cabinet. I don't need the leaf, so I spent extra money for nothing.
Pros: durability, Material, Arrived in good condition
Cons: Capacity, size, too expensive to be put together by consumer

Quality of the packaging was a little scary, but the pieces arrived basically unscathed. Instructions were pretty clear, the design of the island was well thought out for reasonably quick assembly. I think it took me about an hour and a half to two hours (with some "help" from my 2-year-old). Good quality, though I had higher hopes for an "assemble yourself" piece in this price range. Note that the wood is not "finished" and needs to be oiled frequently (as recommended by the manufacturer). I like the rustic oiled wood look... but some people don't. The side cabinets are very small and may only be good for some baking sheets (without the shelf in place) or very small items with the shelf in place. Pretty stable for its size.
Pros: Easy to Assemble, Appearance/ Design /Style, Functional/Useful, quality manufacturing/design and materials

This cart is exactly what I wanted. It is solid quality and has a beautiful finish. I shopped several retailers and found the best price through Chefs Catalog. Even with paying a shipping charge it was less expensive than other retailers. My only concern was not knowing when the cart would ship directly from the manufacturer. Chefs did send me notice once it was on the way so I could watch for delivery. Assembly took about 3 hours.
Pros: Arrived in good condition, construction, Easy to Assemble, Functional/Useful, True to Color

I purchased this island site-unseen via this web-site so I was a bit nervous. I read all the reviews and got myself prepared for a long assembly process. Lo and behold- after laying out all the parts, etc. I began and with the help of my husband we had it done in 3 hrs. and it went so smoothly! The finished product is GREAT- great extra storage and much needed countertop space. Matches great with our Natural Maple cabinets in the rest of the kitchen... Would definately recommend this item!
