knife, 6" utility knife, and 3.5" paring
knife. About Wusthof Classic: Precision-forged
blades of Wusthof's own high-carbon,
stain-resistant steel alloy, for a lasting edge that is
easy to resharpen. Distinctive bolster prevents your
hand from slipping onto the blade. Handle is a
virtually indestructible composite, buffed by hand for a
smooth finish and triple-riveted to the full tang for
optimum strength and balance. Dishwasher safe, but
hand-washing is recommended. Made in Solingen, Germany.

I bought these for my fiance for Christmas and he loves them! He won't even let me use them, if something needs to be cut up he "has" to do it. They will cut thru anything and stay sharp. Now we want the whole set. They are a must have for anyone who loves to cook.

These 3-piece chef's knife set is the best gift my husband and I purchased to our kitchen. It makes cooking much easier and fun! Before, we used to have some dull knifes which never performed right -- now we have these 3 wonderful knifes and I would not trade them for any other set. They are just incredible and worth all the money we spent.

Great set!! I bought this for a friend to replace some knives which had seen better days. Once received, they raved about how effortless the were to use. I tried them myself and WOW. Great balance and an amazingly sharp edge. Absolutely great knives!!

I have been an avid cook my entire life, and thought I was using good knives till I bought the Wusthof set. They can be easily sharpened and have the perfect balance in one's hand. It elevates prep work to a pleasure rather than a chore.

Well I did some research and these were considered THE BEST knives. Then I found the Chef's website. It was easy to order and they were delivered quicker than I expected. And then of course I cut my hand on the first use. But, I am happy to have them!

I purchased a Classic Wusthof pairing knife a few years ago and that is the only knife I found myself using because it was the only one that would cut anything. I cook daily sometimes 3 meals a day for my family so felt I deserved a few more good knives. I kept to the Classic Wusthof line because of the expert way they are crafted but I did thnk about going with a less expensive Wusthof line but hey are not all made exactly the same -do your research. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is that I just think they are too expensive. I love my Classic Wusthof knives they cut beautifully because they are so sharp and not too heavy in your hand just the right weight. We always hand wash them and take great care in using them because they are so sharp.

Although Wusthof is on the upper price scale,I 've had my Wusthof for 5 years and absolutely love them. My previous knifes were what I considered to be top quality but failed to hold up over the years.
I decided this would be a great gift this Christmas for my adult son who inherited my love of cooking. He recently told me he had to come to my house to prepare a recipe because the old knife set I gave him was worthless. Since most of the knife block sets did not fit my complete needs, I purchased most of the knifes i wanted individuallly including this 3 piece set. Hopefully, I'll be on the receiving end of goodies from my gift this year.

I purchased these knives for my daughter. She is a Food Science Major at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She landed a summer job as the dessert baker at a local chop house with a great reputation. The regular baker recommend she get her own set of knives and recommended Wusthof Classic. She spent a few weeks using the kitchen knives and her own knives. She has been using these knives for several weeks and the report is that they are the best knives she has ever used. They are sharp, sturdy, and allow her to quickly make the correct cuts of various fresh fruits, nuts, chocolates, and items used to make the desserts. She tells me I need a set and she needs a set for her apartment.

These knives came with my set. I have to say I use these pieces more than the others. These are the core of the set. I am very pleased and have had them for years (maybe 10). I love them so much I even bought them as gifts for my parents and inlaws. They feel great in the hand. No regrets! Quality is Primo.

How do you use anything else?

Food prep at parent's house or anywhere there my Wusthof knives aren't is not as easy.
Being a person who cooks for fun I have found myself spoiled by using these knives. When I go to 'help' cook somewhere else the prep time is longer and the knives are always dull. It feels the grip is made to fit my hand.
FYI - I have banned the kids and spouse from using 'my knives' :-)

I literally grew up in the kitchen banging pots and pans and crawling. My mom has a set of Wusthof knives from when she got married (34 years and counting). My mom bought me the 3 piece black classic set as a graduation gift. I didn't know how spoiled I was until going to culinary school and buying one of their knife kits. In comparison the Wusthof wins out every time. The weight, design, form, full tang and riveting is fantastic. I have tried other knives which will cut, but there is no thrill, no balance to help slice through. In fact another brand (purchased by my mom) which also is full tanged and riveted has rust deposits and the handle cracked. Needless to say that brand will never enter my house or hers again. I have converted 2 of my cousins and many friends by showing them the knives and having them try them out that they registered for them on their wedding registry. My mom & I even purchased a set for my grandmother because we're tired of her knives, she hasn't put them down yet and always reaches for them first. All in all I will always buy Wusthof and future generations to come will also.

I am a culinary student, and have had the opportunity to try several different knives. Wusthof is thus far my favorite one. A knife that can cut that easy has to be good. The weight is comfortable, heavy enough to cut easily and light enough for good control. The blade is sharp enough to cut someone who accidently runs the flat of the blade across their skin (that being my first actual encounter with this brand). This brand is totally worth the amount of money spent. These aren't just practice knives to find out the brand that is favorite. These are, for me, the final knife in my culinary future.
