This was a Birthday present to myself. I have been looking at a saute pan like this for a while. It does the job beautifully - with a nice heaven heat distribution. This comes with the trade-off that it is a bit heavy, to handle.
Pros: capacity, construction, even cooking, Performs Well, quality, size
My husband gave me the wonderful 3-Quart Saute Pan for Christmas. Although I was pleasantly surprised and very happy he gave it to me, I almost chided him for spending so much on a pan. But once I cooked our first chicken dinner in it I was hooked and wouldn't trade it for anything else in the Chef's Catalog! Even heat distribution, copper core, high sides, a great design, additional handle, oven safe, and easy clean-up make this pan my favorite kitchen tool. I think I'll ask him for a sauce pan for my birthday!
Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, Easy to Clean/Wash, even cooking, Long-lasting, quality, Stay-cool handle

I've cooked with a lot of different pans over the years, in all price ranges, and I can say without hesitation that I've never come across a pan that cooked and held heat so evenly and predictably. Worth the extra cost - I'll be replacing my current pots and pans one by one with Copper-Core counterparts.

WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY

Well made, even heat distribution, heavy duty, cleans easily. Especially love it for high-heat browning on the stove, and then straight in the oven to finish. Have a fry pan, too. Our next one will be a large saute or stock pot!
Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, construction, even cooking, Heat distribution
Copper Core cookware (5-ply construction) is actually superior to All-Clad's Cop-R-Chef line (3-ply construction). It's also more expensive, but if you're going to shell out several hundred dollars for high-quality cookware, then do it right and get the Copper Core. I own the 6-quart sauté pan, which has a whopping 13.5-inch diameter and is so wonderfully heavy, thank goodness for the helper handle. That heavyweight feature delivers big time on the stovetop. I love the possibility of doubling recipes such as swiss steak, beef stroganoff, etc. to cook in one batch and save valuable time. All-Clad says you can also put this fantastic cookware in the oven, up to 500° — something to consider, because Le Creuset's limit is 375°.
