Wusthof Classic Hollow-Ground Santoku : Similar
to a butcher knife, the Japanese-style santoku knife is
a multipurpose gem for slicing, cubing, or dicing.
Available in 5" or 7", the distinctive
hollow-ground edge that alternates scallops on both
sides of the blade, and yields a smooth, clean cut.
About Wusthof Classic: Precision-forged blades of
Wusthof's own high-carbon, stain-resistant steel
alloy, for a lasting edge that is easy to resharpen.
Distinctive bolster prevents your hand from slipping
onto the blade. Handle is a virtually indestructible
composite, buffed by hand for a smooth finish and
triple-riveted to the full tang for optimum strength and
balance. Dishwasher safe, but hand-washing is
recommended. Made in Solingen, Germany.

love my 7" Santoku

"I am a Pro chef and this is my most used knife at work and at home. It is easy to clean, has a well balanced shape for less fatigue on the hand and wrist, and the hollow ground edge lets one slice and chop without as much food sticking to the blade. (Especially good for raw potatoes) This knife and my serrated slicer are my favorites with my Classic 10" Chef's knife a close second. This knife will not disappoint."

"The Wusthof Santoku is my favorite knife. It slices perfectly every time and food doesn't stick to it. It's easy to hold. I have a set of knives, but I usually only use my Santoku.

"I've had these knives for years and bought them for many of my friends too. While i personally am not a big believer in the granton edge the knife itself is a great piece of cutlery. Its extremely well made, very well balanced, and they even come from the factory amazingly sharp. Although i have many other knives, I could happily get by for almost all tasks in the kitchen with these knives. They come with the legendary Wusthof warranty; when i once had a Wusthof break ago after years of use (probably misuse on my part), it was immediately replaced with no questions or hassle. While expensive, they last forever with proper care and sharpening, so well worth the price."

"I have a friend who loves to entertain but does not cook. Whe she hots a party I do the cooking at her house, and since her knives are substandard I have been hauling my knives to her house for years. So for Christmas this year, Santa brought my friend this wonderful set of Santoku knives. She loves them and so do I, and my knives get to stay home in my kitchen! Now if only I can teach her how to properly care for these babies...."

"We've got the full Pampered Chef line of knives and since we bought the Wusthof 5" santoku, we don't use anything else unless the santoku is being washed. Slices easily through anything and nothing sticks to the blade - need to get the 7" for larger veggies!!"

My favorite knife

"I gave my mom this knife for christmas and have heard nothing but raves since. In fact, she and my dad constantly fight over who uses it. Now I know why; I was recently given this knife and it has become my absolute favorite. It cuts so clean and easily - even tomatoes! Chopping ingrediants has gone from a chore to a pleasure. It feels perfectly balanced in my hand and always slices easily through whatever I am cutting. I have the smaller pairing knife too and it's an equal delight. My next set of knives will definately be Wusthof."

"This knife has by far become one of my favorite knives in my collection. I use it for everything. I especially love it for cutting vegetables. Because of the hollow-ground edge items rarely stick to the knife. It makes easy work of raw vegetables. Cut extremely cleanly. It is nicely balanced."
