Wusthof Classic Hollow-Ground Santoku : Similar
to a butcher knife, the Japanese-style santoku knife is
a multipurpose gem for slicing, cubing, or dicing.
Available in 5" or 7", the distinctive
hollow-ground edge that alternates scallops on both
sides of the blade, and yields a smooth, clean cut.
About Wusthof Classic: Precision-forged blades of
Wusthof's own high-carbon, stain-resistant steel
alloy, for a lasting edge that is easy to resharpen.
Distinctive bolster prevents your hand from slipping
onto the blade. Handle is a virtually indestructible
composite, buffed by hand for a smooth finish and
triple-riveted to the full tang for optimum strength and
balance. Dishwasher safe, but hand-washing is
recommended. Made in Solingen, Germany.

"I am a Pro chef and this is my most used knife at work and at home. It is easy to clean, has a well balanced shape for less fatigue on the hand and wrist, and the hollow ground edge lets one slice and chop without as much food sticking to the blade. (Especially good for raw potatoes) This knife and my serrated slicer are my favorites with my Classic 10" Chef's knife a close second. This knife will not disappoint."

My favorite knife

"I gave my mom this knife for christmas and have heard nothing but raves since. In fact, she and my dad constantly fight over who uses it. Now I know why; I was recently given this knife and it has become my absolute favorite. It cuts so clean and easily - even tomatoes! Chopping ingrediants has gone from a chore to a pleasure. It feels perfectly balanced in my hand and always slices easily through whatever I am cutting. I have the smaller pairing knife too and it's an equal delight. My next set of knives will definately be Wusthof."

Great Knife

"This knife has by far become one of my favorite knives in my collection. I use it for everything. I especially love it for cutting vegetables. Because of the hollow-ground edge items rarely stick to the knife. It makes easy work of raw vegetables. Cut extremely cleanly. It is nicely balanced."

Love This Knife!

"This knife is wonderful. It's lightweight, easy to handle and use, and slices cleanly. It holds an edge for a long time. This is my workhorse knife, and I use it constantly. I am 5' & small and this knife is perfect for me. My husband, who's 5'10" also enjoys using this knife. I'm a food writer and receipe developer, so I'm in the kitchen a lot."

"This is a superior knife in all regards. It maintains it's keen edge even in the harshest circumstance. A quick sharpening with a rod every 4 to 5 uses will keep it that way for a long time. I have used this knife for many different tasks and it works extremely well. My highest recommendation for this product. You will not be disappointed."

"I purchased this knife a few months ago. I have never owned a wustoff knife. I find myself chopping everything with this knife. I no longer use my food processor because chopping is so easy with this knife. It is the best knife I have ever owned. I will be purchasing other wustoff knives in the near future."

"I loved this knife from the moment I brought it home! I rarely use any of my other knives any more. It has a nice, sharp blade and is well balanced. It just feels great in my hand. "I LOVE Wusthof Knives, ANY Wusthof knife is incredible! They feel good in your hand, they're well balanced and they cut through anything! I have bought them for gifts as well as stocking them for myself, everyone loves them. I can't say enough good things about this knife set and ALL Wusthof knives, they are just awesome! I do prefer the Classic and Grand Prix lines over the gourmet, but they are ALL awesome knives and once you try any of them, you will want all your knives to be Wusthof! I even keep extras in a drawer for fear, just in case! I don't want to ever be without my Wusthof knives! I"

"This knife has pretty much replaced all my knives. Of course I use the appropriate knife for the job but this knife has quickly become one of my favorites so I'll use it if I can. I am very short and small at 5' 3" and my boyfriend is quite tall at 6' 4" and the knife fits us both well. The knife makes quick work of anything that I've even found I use my mandoline so much less. I've never gotten tired of chopping even when canning hordes of tomatoes from our large garden. I would buy one of these for everyone I know if I had the money!"

"Now that I have this knife, I don't know what I did without it. The weight and balance are excellent - no tiring of the hands. I need tools that don't make me work harder in the kitchen than I have to. I love working with all my Wusthof knives and will even travel with them if I am cooking at someone else's house. Additionally, my 6'2" boyfriend loves this knife too, so it seems to work well with any size hand/frame."

"Wusthof Classic was already my favorite for its quality edge and comfortable handle. The santoku has now replaced my chef's knife as workhorse in my kitchen. Does just about everything except paring fruits and vegetables or slicing roasts."
