Kitchen Must Have
November 16, 2007 SLCJennfrom Salt Lake City, UT
"Love it!. Heavy enough to flatten uneven electric range surfaces and heavy lid ensures tight seal, perfect for trapping in moisture in braised meats, big batches of reducing marinaras, curries, etc. And to top it off, it's gorgeous, too. Highly recommended, every kitchen needs a Le Creuset."

Le Creuset French Oven
May 25, 2009 shaisteramafrom Seattle, WA
Pros: capacity, even cooking, Functional/Useful Cons: Difficult to Clean/Wash, Expensive/ Price
"I use this pot almost every time I cook. It is a little frustrating that you are not supposed to use it above med on your stove. I have an electric stove. I have also had trouble with it staining (I think from over heating it) and also the enamel chipping."

A must for every kitchen
February 17, 2009 Nancfrom Woodbury, MN
Pros: even cooking, easy cleanup, tight fitting cover, hold a lot Cons: heavy cast iron
"This is one of the busiest pots in my kitchen! It cooks so evenly and holds a huge amount of soup and/or stew. It's even easy to clean. While it's a little heavy, it think that's why it cooks so evenly. By far a great investment for any kitchen."

January 29, 2009 love2bakefrom Seattle
"You will love this pot! It is amazing…we use it all the time…for soups, stews, and chili on the stovetop, pot roast and roast chicken in the oven. It heats up evenly and retains heat like nothing else does. You will not regret owning this."

My favorite classic casserole dish
January 27, 2009 SouthFLCookfrom Pembroke Pines, FL
Pros: everything! Cons: a tad heavy
"I look this French oven. When I was growing up, this was my mothers favorite wedding present, that she said "was useful even when my dad was not". JK!
So I wanted one just like hers - an orange one (called Flame color). I love it. It delivers the heat evenly and seals in flavors! It is the number one pot/oven I use. It is great for beef stew, chicken pot pie and a chicken cordon blue casserole my family and I love!
I'm a young married person and this pot/oven has enveloped my love of cooking! I enjoy cooking now so much, mainly due to my Le Creuset."

Most versatile pot in my kitchen!
January 13, 2009 CoolmanBrosCDRfrom St. Louis, MO
Pros: cooks great!, cleans easy! Cons: heavy - but that is why cast iron works so well
"I received this as a Christmas gift last year and have become a devoted fan of enamel over cast iron and Le Creuset products ever since!
You will make the best gumbo ever in this pot! and the clean up from making a sticky roux is amazingly easy!
Roasts, stews, soups, gumbos, chili....this pot does everything and looks great going from stove top to oven to table!
Run!...don't walk to the curb to pick up your order from Chef's Catalog and get cooking!"

KItchen Essential
January 10, 2009 RAnnfrom Malibu, CA
"I was initially reluctant to buy this because I didn't know how much use I would get out of it. But now I am amazed at how often I use it. It's great for slow cooking. It also saves clean up time because it can brown and cook on the stove top and go right into the oven. This is the perfect size for roasts and stews."

what did I do without it?
January 9, 2009 soupstarfrom Albany NY
Pros: easy to clean
"We use this pot almost every day. It browns, braises, and simmers everything better. It not only cooks better, due to some sort of even heating thing internally, but it is also the easiest pot to clean. I wish we could afford a whole set of these!"

1 pot for many uses
January 8, 2009 palanklfrom St. Louis, MO
"I had a Lodge Basics cast iron pot for many years until we got a gift certificate and bought this pot. It is SO easy to clean and holds heat and moisture better than anything I have ever used. Great for browning meat or veggies in oil and producing a nice fond, then deglazes easily with stock or wine. This size pot (7.25 qts) in particular fits most stews or soups we cook, and the diameter is perfect for a large burner on most stoves."

Love my Le Cruset!
January 8, 2009 Bayshiedeefrom Orange County, California
"I purchased the 7 1/4 quart round French oven to make it easier to prepare my famous French Onion Soup! Normally, I've carmelized the onions on stovetop but with my Le Cruset, I save time by doing them in the oven while I do other things. My big red pot is beautiful and easy to clean. So glad I splurged!"

A Perfect Bread Oven
January 8, 2009 Meemerfrom Fairfax, Virginia
"I recently used this pot to bake bread. I preheated it before I put the dough inside and put the lid on tightly. The bread came out perfectly with a beautiful crust and a tender interior. In addition to its being perfect for so many things, this was definitely a favorite use."

MVP (Most Valuable Pot)
January 8, 2009 PamPfrom Florida
"This pot does it all. It is unmatched for soups as its heavy lid seals in the moisture and makes reducing a breeze. Chillies and stews can cook for hours without drying out. Pot roasts can be braised on a top burner and then moved to the oven with ease."

Favorite pot ever!
June 2, 2008 Frecklesfrom Bear, DE
"I absolutely love this pot. I purchased it in red this past fall and use it every chance I get. Each dish turns out excellent every time. It is so pretty that I can't bear to put it away in a cabinet so I leave it out on display. I purchased the 7 1/4-quart round French oven because I read that if you only buy one you should get this size because it handles the most types of dishes. I have been married 36 years and have cooked with lots of pots but this by far is the very best. Don't worry about the cost - you are worth it!"

Love Creuset!
November 30, 2007 GalleySlavefrom Monroe Twp, NJ
"These are the best! I have "others" that don't perform anywhere near Creuset. This one is the perfect size for large batches of chili, stew, soup. It doesn't get put away in the fall & winter - goes from wash up right back to use! Every cook should own at least 1 of these! The quality justifies the price! And it'll be around a LOOOONG time!"
