A Must Have, Not a Wish Have
January 13, 2009 ToBofrom Virginia Beach, VA
"This is a tremendous piece of kitchen equipment! I received mine as a gift and I use it all the time. As soon as I have the extra funds, I want the whole set.
They are easy to clean. While they are heavy, it is well balanced no matter what you are preparing. Browns evenly, holds a nice simmer when necessary.
This pot will be working and useful long after I'm past the age of cooking and will be passed down to my daughter ~~ I couldn't do without it."

Every cook needs one
November 17, 2007 tigger8569from Las Vegas
"I have wanted a porcelain enamel dutch oven for years and finally bought one about a month ago and all I can say is why did I wait so long. The first time I used it was to make a pot roast; not only was the roast amazing (tender and moist) but the clean up was impressive. I dreaded the clean up when I saw the sides of the inside of the dutch oven. As the liquid reduced, it left (what I thought would be) stains, but with just a little soap, warm water and a sponge the mess came right off. The second time I used it was to make homemade spaghetti sauce and again the clean up was a breeze. I received exclamations on how beautiful the blue was and even more once the food was sampled."

"Let me just say that cooking has never been more fun. My mother gave me some of her pieces when the nonstick surface started coming off my old cookware. When she first gave it to me I didn't think I would EVER be able to cook on something that wasn't nonstick. Well! I couldn't have been more wrong! I LOVE cooking now and have done so every night for over two months! I highly suggest this as a lifetime investment for everyone! Nothing cooks better!"

Pros: versatile Cons: heavy
"I was hesitant to spend the money on this pot, but said, "what the heck". I now want a whole set! It is the most versatile piece of cookware in my kitchen. I can brown meat on the cooktop and go straight to the oven to finish roasting. I also use this for deep frying. It holds an even heat and is easily cleaned."

EVERYONE NEEDS ONE OF THESE!
April 8, 2009 jjssfrom Salt Lake City, UT
"This was my one big splurge after staring at them for years, and now I can't believe I waited so long-if I had to pick just one cooking item to keep in my kitchen, this would be it! It's the best for sauteeing, frying, roasting, braising, soups, stews, stocks, -I even make things like mashed potatoes and stuffing in it because it goes right from the skillet to the oven. It's super easy to clean, even if something burns on (which rarely happens), the top seals nicely and it heats perfectly evenly--PERFECT gift for someone just starting out."

Fantastic Crusty Bread
March 6, 2009 MrsHfrom Enfield,Ct
"My husband and I have bread bake offs, no kneading required with this pan. His speacialty is pepper cheese, mine lemon rosemary. We bake, slice, freeze and when we have family and friends over we heat up a few slices , dip in a little EVOO and wait to see which bread gets to most ooos and aaahs. The heat that this pan can generate produces a crusty exterior with a soft moist interior. Fabulous bakery results, at a fraction of the cost."

The Best
February 22, 2009 vhfvhffrom Hixson, TN
"This is the best cookware ever. It's very heavy, so if you have weakness forget it. But the even heat and heat retention, easy clean up, and longevity, make this an heirloom. It's also pretty enough to go right to the table."

Best pot I ever bought
January 30, 2009 bluchsinfrom New Rochelle, NY
Pros: easy to use and very easy to clean Cons: none
"I have had this pot for about a month or so and have used it so many times. I have cooked a roast in it to deep frying Calamari. It is so versatile. You use it on the stove top to brown the meats then put it in the oven and let it slow cook in there. I am so happy with this that I wish I had not waited so long to buy it. Thank you Chefs, you are one of my favorite sites to buy things from."

Best Gift Ever
January 29, 2009 Ppoch1121from Chicago,IL
"This was the most amazing gift I could have recieved. I have seen the cooks on Food Network using it and had to have it. It is much better than I thought. Even heat distribution helps to cook foods evenly. I use it whenever I make anything that calls for a dutch oven.
Clean up is a breeze.
I made the best beef stew and chili in this pot. It is truly an heirloom that I will also be handing down to one of my daughters."

Perfect cookware
January 28, 2009 Jodiefrom Wilmington, NC
Pros: looks beautiful on the stove
"I purchased my Le Creuset French Oven as a birthday gift to myself. The size is perfect for simmering delicious spaghetti sauce, chili and chicken cacciatore. You can imagine the tender, flavorful taste of Italian beef that has been roasting in its own juices. Along with food tasting great, the French Oven adds sophistication to my kitchen decor. I love it and plan to purchase many other pieces to complete the set!"

Versatile pots!
January 25, 2009 BraisingQueenfrom Portland, OR
Pros: easy clean, even heat distribution for low heat cooking
"I purchased my first Le Creuset French oven a little over a year ago and it's been great. Food cooks evenly, it's easy to clean up and still is beautiful to display. I use it often for soups, braising and stews. The 5.5 qt. round is my workhorse, but I like to use a smaller one for side dishes and soups, and recently added a 5 qt. oval for roasts and have been very satisfied. Add the stainless steel lid handle and it's oven safe for baking bread at 500 degrees for a great crust. Expensive but worth it!"

THE dish to have
January 18, 2009 IslandLadyfrom Monhegan, ME
"I got my first Le Creuset as a Christmas gift 3 years ago. I was very surprised how heavy it was but it all made sense when I realized how multipurpose this cookware was. From the stovetop to the oven it soon became THE dish to use. I knew I’m addicted. I wanted more Le Creuset. I started dreaming about some day replacing all my cooking equipment for Le Creuset. I have bought couple different kinds of casserole dishes and just recently got 9-quart Oval French Oven and 8-quart Stockpot. I love the durability of the enameled cast iron cookware and the easy clean-up. If I can, I choose to buy a different color every time I get a new piece of this kitchen art so I can expand my home décor beyond my living room."

Cannot Live Without It
January 9, 2009 Leederfrom DC
"This is my favorite piece of cookware in my kitchen. I use it at least every other week for soups, stews, roasts, and anything I want to brown beautifully. And the cleanup is incredible - everything comes off of the porcelain enamel with just a little soap and water. The best wedding present one can get (or give!)."

Comfort Food Memories
January 8, 2009 razzlefrom Winston, CA
Pros: versatility and beauty
"My mother had one of these 50 years ago, and she made the most wonderful variety of comfort foods in it. I remember its beautiful color every time it sat there on the cooktop or in the oven and the luscious fragrances that floated through the air when she lifted the lid. I just had to have my own, so I could cook up those comforting memories. It is the best, bar none, in cooking a wide variety of foods that are simply delicious. It is also an easy clean up and looks absolutely beautiful on display in the cabinet or on a rack."

How did I manage without it?!
January 8, 2009 TWH4mefrom Stafford, VA
"I have wanted a La Creuset French Oven for a long time, but could never part with the money. I finally put it on my Wish List and got it for Christmas. It is SOOOOO worth the money. This is a serious piece of kitchen equipment. It's well made, conducts heat evenly, cleans up very easy, and looks beautiful. I made cabbage rolls in it and it did a fantastic job of cooking evenly, with easy clean-up. I made butternut squash soup in it, and this one pot does it all. I baked the squash, sauteed they vegetables and cooked everything in this one pot. I can't wait to do a pot roast!!!"

Indispensible!
January 8, 2009 Soupladyfrom La Mesa, California
"My Le Creuset Dutch Oven is the most indispensible item in my kitchen, and has been for more than 45 years. The cast iron provides even heat distribution and the enamel coating provides an easily cleaned surface. There is nothing that can compare when it comes to braising, stewing, or any recipe that required long, slow cooking. For me it is the perfect pot for making stocks and especially soups.
Be sure to have good sturdy hot pads on hand because the handles are not heat-proof and the pot is heavy. You need to be preparedd for the fact that a big roast or a full pot of soup will be weighty. Caution is required when moving into or out of the oven. But what a wonderful pot it is! You will never regret the purchase - nor have to replace it. Put it in your will and watch your heirs fight over it.
I would love to have the new Caribbean pot, but the old one refuses to wear out, although I do admit that the enamel finish on the inside is beginning to wear. Warning: do NOT bang on the edges of the pot with your cooking utensils or you risk chipping the enamel. Treat it with love and respect and it will serve you as long as it has served me."

Wonderful Pot
January 8, 2009 ArizonaLadyfrom Cornville, AZ
Pros: heavy duty, beautiful, easy to clean up, cooks like a dream no burning on
"I will admit that I could not understand all the fuss over Le Cruset and also the huge pricetag. Well I am now a believer - this is an amazing product. It is beautiful, functional and great to use and clean up. I have used it for stew and soup thus far, but am interested in using it to roast meats. I love it and adore the neat flame color - VERY southwest!"

Versatile and wonderful addition to any kitchen
January 8, 2009 Skrpunefrom Chicago, IL
"This is THE pan to use for stews, soups, sauces, etc. It heats evenly, the sides are high enough to keep stuff from spattering all over the stove, clean up is easy, and it's so pretty too! This thing weighs a ton but that's what makes it so great - it's sturdy as all get out, and I am pretty sure it will outlast me. My favorite dish to make in this is a beef stew, but it's great for just about anything on top of the stove or in it. It's versatile and a treasured addition to my kitchen."
