Best Gift Ever January 29, 2009
Ppoch1121 from Chicago,IL

"This was the most amazing gift I could have recieved. I have seen the cooks on Food Network using it and had to have it. It is much better than I thought. Even heat distribution helps to cook foods evenly. I use it whenever I make anything that calls for a dutch oven.

Clean up is a breeze.

I made the best beef stew and chili in this pot. It is truly an heirloom that I will also be handing down to one of my daughters.

A Must Have, Not a Wish Have January 13, 2009
ToBo from Virginia Beach, VA

"This is a tremendous piece of kitchen equipment! I received mine as a gift and I use it all the time. As soon as I have the extra funds, I want the whole set.

They are easy to clean. While they are heavy, it is well balanced no matter what you are preparing. Browns evenly, holds a nice simmer when necessary.

This pot will be working and useful long after I'm past the age of cooking and will be passed down to my daughter ~~ I couldn't do without it.

How did I manage without it?! January 8, 2009
TWH4me from Stafford, VA

"I have wanted a La Creuset French Oven for a long time, but could never part with the money. I finally put it on my Wish List and got it for Christmas. It is SOOOOO worth the money. This is a serious piece of kitchen equipment. It's well made, conducts heat evenly, cleans up very easy, and looks beautiful. I made cabbage rolls in it and it did a fantastic job of cooking evenly, with easy clean-up. I made butternut squash soup in it, and this one pot does it all. I baked the squash, sauteed they vegetables and cooked everything in this one pot. I can't wait to do a pot roast!!!"

My Favorite Christmas Gift! March 24, 2008
tamale from Washington, DC

"I received my Le Creuset French Oven as a gift for Christmas, and now I can't imagine cooking without it! I have been consistently pleased with everything that I have made in it: from Beef Stew to pot roast, and sauce to fried donuts. This pot heats so evenly and is thick enough that nothing burns on the bottom. Deglazing is a cinch, and cleaning it is surprisingly easy! Every home cook should have one of these."

Every cook needs one November 17, 2007
tigger8569 from Las Vegas

"I have wanted a porcelain enamel dutch oven for years and finally bought one about a month ago and all I can say is why did I wait so long. The first time I used it was to make a pot roast; not only was the roast amazing (tender and moist) but the clean up was impressive. I dreaded the clean up when I saw the sides of the inside of the dutch oven. As the liquid reduced, it left (what I thought would be) stains, but with just a little soap, warm water and a sponge the mess came right off.
The second time I used it was to make homemade spaghetti sauce and again the clean up was a breeze.
I received exclamations on how beautiful the blue was and even more once the food was sampled.

An investment in good cookware December 3, 2009
hillanne from baltimore, md

Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, even cooking, Functional/Useful, Heat distribution, Heat retention, Long-lasting, Material, multi-purpose, non-stick, Performs Well, quality, size, Tight-fitting lid, True to Color, Value for Money, Variety of Colors
Cons: weight

"If you watch any cooking show, old Julia, Jacques Pepin, America's Test Kitchen, Lidia, plus all of the Food Network cooks who aren't promoting their own line, you'll see Le Creuset is what they use. This is cookware you will hand down to your kids because it lasts forever and it's the best stuff for almost anything you'll ever cook. My oval casserole is perfect for roasting a whole chicken, and for 2 people is perfect for most stews and slow cooked oven meals or stovetop for soups. I love the shallower 2.25 qt buffet casserole which I use for braising and sauted vegetables or great stir fries. Le Creuset heats evenly, cleans easily and lasts forever. I break out my big casserole for all the holidays since I'm an empty nester now, but in the old days I used it constantly. Because it is so well made, it will make you a better cook, because it's much harder to burn things, and much easier to build that all that good fond that makes a sauce taste really great.! The only con for some people may be the weight, but that's what makes Le Creuset what it is."

Cons: Expensive/ Price, porcelin coating can scratch

"I use this dutch oven for every soup, stew, pot roast, chili, etc. that I make. It's large, cooks evenly and it gorgeous as well (I have the 'flame' color). It's heavy and sturdy and the porcelain coating is easily to clean. I use it both on the stove top and in the oven."

I love my Le Creuset November 8, 2009
Cheryleo from Southern Maine

"t was with great anticipation the very first time I used my Le Creuset French Oven. I was expecting a good outcome but was not prepared for such magnificent results...even on my hateful electric stove that is nearly impossible to cook on. The fact that the burner does not heat uniformly doesn't matter one iota when my beautiful cobalt blue French Oven is pressed into use. In all my years of having to prepare food on an electric stove, the simple act of simmering has been elusive. No matter the setting I tried, the food was either boiling or doing nothing. Now, on a very low setting of two, the entire contents, not just the food in the middle of the pot, will slowly and ever so gently simmer away for hours on end. My Le Creuset cookware is pure culinary joy to use and the finished product always exceeds my expectations."

Great Product October 30, 2009
Joanne from Illinois

Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to store, easy to use, even cooking, Functional/Useful, Heat distribution, Heat retention, Long-lasting, Material, multi-purpose, Performs Well, quality, size, Tight-fitting lid, True to Color
Cons: Expensive/ Price, weight

"This pot goes easily from stovetop to oven to refrigerator. It cooks beautifully and cleans like a breeze. I am sorry I waited so long to try Le Creuset but now that I have one, I am sure I will acquire many more. Cooks better than any other pot I own. Only drawback is weight. The cast iron that is such a reliable conductor is also very heavy."

A Worthy Investment September 29, 2009
fjcoverson from Snohomish, WA

Pros: Appearance/ Design /Style, capacity, construction, durability, Easy to Clean/Wash, even cooking, Heat distribution, quality, True to Color

"As so many of the reviews note - this French oven is a work horse -I have been harvesting tomatoes and this has been the pot that has cooked down pounds or our garden produce. I too leave this pot on the stove as it is a beautiful looking item and it does get constant use - Our next application will be winter soups. Served from the stove - the possibilities are endless. And the clean up is effortless. A real bonus"

"Let me just say that cooking has never been more fun. My mother gave me some of her pieces when the nonstick surface started coming off my old cookware. When she first gave it to me I didn't think I would EVER be able to cook on something that wasn't nonstick. Well! I couldn't have been more wrong! I LOVE cooking now and have done so every night for over two months! I highly suggest this as a lifetime investment for everyone! Nothing cooks better!"

Workhorse April 15, 2009
greenlawnsue from Huntsville, AL

Pros: versatile
Cons: heavy

"I was hesitant to spend the money on this pot, but said, "what the heck". I now want a whole set! It is the most versatile piece of cookware in my kitchen. I can brown meat on the cooktop and go straight to the oven to finish roasting. I also use this for deep frying. It holds an even heat and is easily cleaned."

EVERYONE NEEDS ONE OF THESE! April 8, 2009
jjss from Salt Lake City, UT

"This was my one big splurge after staring at them for years, and now I can't believe I waited so long-if I had to pick just one cooking item to keep in my kitchen, this would be it! It's the best for sauteeing, frying, roasting, braising, soups, stews, stocks, -I even make things like mashed potatoes and stuffing in it because it goes right from the skillet to the oven. It's super easy to clean, even if something burns on (which rarely happens), the top seals nicely and it heats perfectly evenly--PERFECT gift for someone just starting out."

Fantastic Crusty Bread March 6, 2009
MrsH from Enfield,Ct

"My husband and I have bread bake offs, no kneading required with this pan. His speacialty is pepper cheese, mine lemon rosemary. We bake, slice, freeze and when we have family and friends over we heat up a few slices , dip in a little EVOO and wait to see which bread gets to most ooos and aaahs. The heat that this pan can generate produces a crusty exterior with a soft moist interior. Fabulous bakery results, at a fraction of the cost."

The Best February 22, 2009

Best pot I ever bought January 30, 2009
bluchsin from New Rochelle, NY

Pros: easy to use and very easy to clean
Cons: none

"I have had this pot for about a month or so and have used it so many times. I have cooked a roast in it to deep frying Calamari.
It is so versatile. You use it on the stove top to brown the meats then put it in the oven and let it slow cook in there.
I am so happy with this that I wish I had not waited so long to buy it.
Thank you Chefs, you are one of my favorite sites to buy things from.

Perfect cookware January 28, 2009
Jodie from Wilmington, NC

Pros: looks beautiful on the stove

"I purchased my Le Creuset French Oven as a birthday gift to myself. The size is perfect for simmering delicious spaghetti sauce, chili and chicken cacciatore. You can imagine the tender, flavorful taste of Italian beef that has been roasting in its own juices. Along with food tasting great, the French Oven adds sophistication to my kitchen decor. I love it and plan to purchase many other pieces to complete the set!"
