I bought this attachment because my kids and I love homemade applesauce. We had been using a food mill to make the sauce but I always thought there should be a more efficient way. Well this attachment is that way. We just quarter the apples and cook them until soft. Next we feed them into the top and out one side come apple sauce and out the other comes the peels and seeds. We've had the attachment for two weeks and have already made three batches of apple sauce. The best part is the kids love using it so they have done a lot of the work. Processing the apples once cooked was always the part of applesauce making that we dreaded but with this it is the part we love.
All the pieces of this attachment seem solid and well made. Clean up is quick and easy.

Have done both pork and beef with outstanding results. Burgers, meatballs, bulk sausage have all been tried with great success. Has fed very well and have done about 7 - 10 pounds at each session.
Pros: easy to use, multi-purpose, construction, Performs Well, Easy to Clean/Wash, easy to store

Now that I am retired without a big family to feed and prepare food for, I discover this attachment for my KitchenAid mixer. For years I labored to cut, core, peel, and strain fruit and vegetables by hand to process applesauce, tomato paste, etc. NO MORE! The attachment is god sent! Now I just quarter washed food, cook, and put through the strainer and I get quality results plus the separated skins and pulp can go straight into my compost! It's so easy now to make fresh fruit and vegetable purees. This attachment encourages me to cook more even if it's just for two. Buy it, you'll like it!

I absolutely love this product! I've had it now for a few harvest seasons. For now I've only used it to make applesauce, but Lord willing if I have another child this will be awesome for making homemade baby food! It is a bit of an investment at first, but it is a high quality KitchenAid product and is worth every penny. Last year I made 6 gallons of sauce in less than a day with two little ones running around. It makes it so easy! Just coarsely chop your apples and cook them in a little water, seeds and all, until softened. Then let the mixer do the rest!
