I have had all-clad cookware for more than 30 years and recently decided to add some new pieces. This multicooker replaced a thin aluminum one--what a difference! this is a sturdy, well-made pot, very versatile, great for pasta, have also used it for steaming vegetables. I expect to hand it down to my children
We have a Multicooker of our own so I purchased one for my daughter. She was thrilled. It will suit her needs forever. The twelve quart was a perfect size for her. And she wasted no time trying it out for us over the holidays. Most of our cookware is All-Clad so we like to spread the news by making sure our children use it. Besides, they all look great hanging from our pot rack!
Pros: Easy to Clean/Wash, Stay-cool handle, quality, Material, Warranty, easy to use, even cooking, Heat distribution, multi-purpose, construction, size, Heat retention, Appearance/ Design /Style, non-stick, Performs Well, easy to store, durability, Functional/Useful, Long-lasting, Weight, capacity
Cons: Expensive/ Price

Review 3 for All-Clad Stainless-Steel 12-Quart Multicooker
I too agree with the first reviewer, MOMMYBELL, you need to use lots of water to use the pot for pasta and by doing that it will "spit" water onto you stovetop while the pasta is cooking in the past insert. I still use it for pasta but very carefully. I love the steamer insert and I love the size of the pot. I can cook a New England Boiled dinner or Corned Beef and Cabbage with room to spare. I have other Stainless All-Clad pieces and this one is made well but keep in mind if you are looking for all stainless, this is brushed stainless on the pot as shown in the picture. The lid and the inserts are the shiny stainless. That doesn't bother me because I was looking for a good quality All-Clad piece that I didn't have to mortgage my house! I am happy with my purchase and would recommend.

this is not magnetic

This pot is not magnetic and cannot be used with an induction cooktop. It was unclear in the discription on the website. It is however a solidly constructed set and all the pieces fit together perfectly. I would have been very happy with it, if like the all clad stainless it had been magnetic

This is my favorite pot ever. A complete multi-tasker. You can cook pasta and steam vegetables at the same time with the same pot. A very efficient item, I love it.

Worth the Money

This 12-quart Multicooker does the job! The "extras" are nice, too. I can get a whole head of broccoli steamed in no time. It is more than adequate for soups (just finished the homemade vegetable beef) and I can't wait for homemade tomato sauce.
Well constructed, and I do not think it will be scorching anything like my last pot did.
When I bought this I didn't realize just how big 12 quarts is and was somewhat overwhelmed by the sheer size of it. However, now that I've used it a couple of times, I totally love it! I can do so many things with it. So far I've used it to make pasta for the first time in the correct amount of water! The pasta insert is very large capacity, but it cooked up my usual 1-pound package quite nicely in the amount of time it said on the package so the heat distribution is very good. I'm looking forward to using it for making my own chicken and beef stock. I also plan on cooking live lobster in it and the steamer basket is the perfect size for a couple dozen clams as well. More importantly is the fact that it was made in the USA. Thus, the quality is excellent.

Fabulous Bargain

This very functional pot is beautifully made, as expected from All-Clad. And yes, of course, the insert is not useful for cooking a small amount of pasta, as common sense would indicate. However, the insert IS ideal for many other uses - I make up large batches of chicken stock to freeze and the insert works beautifully when it's time to remove the bones and vegetables; also perfect for lobsters and crab legs. It was invaluable when I had to cook rigatoni for a crowd, and the steamer insert is ideal for artichokes and other vegetables. Used without either insert, this makes a lovely all-around large stockpot; I consider it indispensable at an excellent price.

Review 12 for All-Clad Stainless-Steel 12-Quart Multicooker
I also agree with MOMMYBELL and Joanne70 -- it's not the best way to cook an average amount of pasta. However, if you're making a large batch, it's a nice thing to have. It's also great as a large-size stock pot, and when cooking corn on the cob or steaming crab legs, you can't beat it. I'd buy it again.

Great pot but has its caveats

This pot is billed as a multicooker. I love the style, weight and the even heat usage. I am however confused by the pasta part. My family is at the shrinking stage so pasta consumption is minimal. I find I have to put so much water into the pot to use the big strainer that it would be easier and more cost effective to use the pot with out the pasta inset. You see the large lip on the pasta inset means that is sits very high inside the main pot. As for steaming vegetables in the smaller inset that works wonderfully. The pot can also be used as a stock pot and works well for that too. This was I lot of money to avoid dumping my pasta into a colander. Oh well It works in other ways.
