A Great Cup O Java March 20, 2008
notime4junk from Yorktown, VA

"I bought my first Cuisinart Grind & Brew about seven years ago and replaced it with this one about a year ago. We were amazed at the quality of coffee produced by this machine. I comes with a gold filter that lets a little of the smaller grounds pass through. We like this but you could also use paper filters if you wish. It is simple to clean. All the parts can be put in the dish washer. Just make sure to place the grinder basket right side up and not upside down. When there is no time for the dish washer just a quick rinse with the sprayer at the sink taking care not to get the underside of the grinder wet. The instructions say to dry all parts thouroughly but really all you need to dry is the inside of the grinder, the part that sits over the motor and it's cover. As for the noise, it is not any louder than any other coffee grinder. However it can startle anyone or anyhting thing that is not expecting it to turn on. Our first machine did get louder as the grinder was wearing out. Cuisinart has improved this machine to help keep moisture out of the grinding motor. I would purchase this machine again because my husband and I do enjoy a great cup of java."

Good cup of coffee, BUT... November 9, 2007
ckn3 from Lancaster County, PA

"We got one of these as a wedding present, and really liked it at first. After a few months, the door to the filter started sticking even with frequent and time-consuming cleanings. It eventually broke, but the unit still functioned. It makes good coffee, but it is a lot of work. Two words of caution - it sounds like a tornado siren when it starts up, so if you are in a smaller apartment, beware. Also, should you ever forget to remove the previous days' grounds, you will awaken to a coffee-colored slurry cascading down your cabinets and onto your floor. This was not Cuisinart's fault, of course, but it needs to be mentioned."

Great Machine for the Price! October 20, 2007
chefboyrd from NJ

"We all know there are a hundred different styles of coffee makers. Some that even me, a Professional Chef needs help figuring out!! But this machine is sleek, simple to use, and consistantly produces great coffee. No need for a filter, just put in the beans and go. Don't have beans? Shut the grind feature off with the push of a button. Only downfall is it has a lot of parts to clean because of the grinding feature. But it's still worth it for a great cup of coffee!!"

Fresh Coffee Made Easy October 19, 2007
debirose from CA

"When our coffee maker needed replacement, I decided to get one that grinds and brews. Of the ones on the market, this one was reasonably priced and nice looking. It takes a little trial and error to figure out the correct bean/water ratio that's right for you, but once you've got that taken care of, it's great. The parts are diswasher safe so clean-up is easy. And the fact that it's programable makes waking up to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee a wonderful reality!"

Perfect Coffee October 19, 2007
Anonymous Reviewer from Wisconsin

"I had an older model of this coffee maker that made an excellent cup of coffee EVERY TIME! When it started to act up (after several years of use), I immediately ordered the newer model to insure there would be no interruption in my daily delight. This model came, but the other had had a spontaneous cure so it remained in the box. I have since passed the old one on to my daughter (loves it!) and put this newer one into service. It is easier to clean, has a filter for fresher water and again makes a consistent, great cup of coffee. You never have to worry about grinding too much or too little or inconsistent measurement. You can't miss with the Cuisinart Grind and Brew. I am sure the thermal carafe model is an excellent choice too."
