We wanted a traditional looking kettle that whistled and that was energy efficient, The Le Creuset Kettle is just what we wanted: Great lines, great colour, easy to use with no burnt fingers, and enormously efficient.

I purchased this teakettle for its appearance, and it looks great in our kitchen! Our former teakettle stopped whistling years ago, and it's wonderful to have a fully functioning teakettle again. It's easy to fill and clean. It is quite pricey compared to other kettles, but was worth it to me for its stylish appearance. It should last a long time, so if you think about spreading the cost over xx years, it doesn't seem so bad.
Pros: easy to use, construction, Performs Well, Easy to Clean/Wash, Value for Money, Material, True to Color, Appearance/ Design /Style, Functional/Useful

We absolutely love the colour, quality and the old fashioned sound of the whistle when the water is boiling. The first couple of times it "sang" the dogs went nuts but now they're used to it. The quality is Le Creuset, so always excellent, and the cheery cherry looks wonderful on my new stove. We've recently switched to all induction cooking and this kettle works perfectly.
In the kitchen, I'm never without: hopeful dogs hoping for something to drop

Gotta Love Perfection.

Bought this kettle after returning one from another major company that, instead of whistling, spit steam and hot water all over my induction top. The picture of the kettle (I bought the 'red' color') does not do it justice. The two-tone graduated colors are outstandingly attractive. The whistling function works perfectly; it is loud enough to notify without being overbearing or annoying. The handle stays cool and the whistle-top is easily opened with the thumb without concern for being burned at all. The lid is very secure and there are no worries about it falling off. Further, the handle folds down to one side allowing for very easy removal of the lid and pot filling. All-in-all, I couldn't be happier.

A tea kettle is a tea kettle... but this one is way more beautiful than any other I've seen. I love it and get tons of compliments on it. It sits on my stovetop full-time, because I love looking at it so much. Only con is the lid doesn't fit as tightly as I thought it should - steam escapes out of the lid.
In the kitchen, I'm never without: a good set of oven mits and a cup of coffee or glass of wine.

kettle looks real nice in my very traditional kitchen; one inconvenience with the design: most have a trigger which you can reach while holding the kettle; this one does not; you cannot reach the cap while pouring; so, you must open the cap, then pour, then close the cap; there is a lever tab on the cap to help with this, but it would be better if you could reach it while holding the handle
Pros: construction, capacity, True to Color, Tight-fitting lid, Appearance/ Design /Style
Cons: Difficult to use

I had been looking for a teakettle for quite a while. I wanted something similar to the one my mother used. The features I looked for in a teakettle were:
- Built well to last a long time
- Capable of holding a large amount of water
- Have a high handle with a large lid opening that
would make it easier to fill, hold, and pour
- A lid that has a tight seal to help keep the water hot
- A whistle that can be heard all over the house.
- A teakettle that has all the above features but with present day color schemes
I haven't had the teakettle long enough to evaluate its long term capabilities, but all the other features have met and even passed my expectations. I will say this about this kettle, if my mother were still alive, she, like me, would love this teakettle.
In the kitchen, I'm never without: my kitchen utensils

I bought this kettle in Jan 2011 and was thrilled to receive it, for the colour and since it was unavailable in my region. Today, I just found out that the spout is rusty internally. I use the kettle 2 to 3 times daily to boil water for coffee. The idea of drinking rusty water for the last few months is disgusting. My husband discovered the rust accidentally from the least obvious place. For those who own one of this, do yourself a favour by using a torch to check the internal spout.

We just redecorated our kitchen and I wanted a tea kettle that would look nice in our English Garden kitchen and this one is perfect. It's very fast and the whistle isn't annoying as some are. I returned two before I found just the right one. Mine is a little different in shape as it's not as squatting. I chose the one that's a little taller than this one because I wanted more of the older style look and it's also in a color that isn't in this style. My kitchen is light green and white and I'm accessorizing it in yellow's and greens. All in all I'm very happy with this tea kettle and in the time it took me to do this review I have a pot of water boiling.

Absolute Satisfaction

We've had a very nice stainless steel teapot for 15 - 20 years, but it began to lose its luster some time ago and looked ratty on the range top. It was time to surprise my wife with an attractive, quaint whistling kettle that would (hopefully) keep her from letting all the water boil off because she forgot the heating element was left on. We also wanted to get a kettle that would work on our supplementary induction cooktop.
In short, the color we bought (cherry) was a wonderful graduated two-tone design that adds much to the overall appeal of the kettle; much prettier than the on-line picture presented. I liked the secure top that leaves no worries about having it possibly fall off when boiling water is poured from the pot.
The whistle works just fine (I recently returned a whistling kettle for the lack of this). The stainless steel handle folds down to one side to facilitate filling or cleaning of the pot, and the handle grip does not get hot, nor does the small handle that opens the whistle cover. Getting a burn from using this pot would require pure carelessness.
One feature I particularly liked was that my large hand was able to fit easily into the pot for cleaning, eliminating the need to recruit my wife for the task. The outer porcelain coating cleans up easily and with little effort.
I cook constantly and am always looking to upgrade my cookware. I have traditionally used magnetic stainless steel, but now intend to replace all with Le Creuset pots and pans for both their quality and, as important, their beauty.
Pros: Easy to Clean/Wash, Stay-cool handle, quality, construction, Tight-fitting lid, Appearance/ Design /Style, Performs Well

Product was what I thought it would be, good color, nice weight, and heats fast on a gas range. The whistle is loud enough to be heard in another room. My only disappoint was it was made in Twain and not France.
