Hot water, FAST!!! January 8, 2009
Christi from St. Louis, Missouri

Pros: easy to use for lots of things

"I've had this for 3 years and it's still like new. It works wonderful! Hot water almost instantly. Jello, hot chocolate, tea, instant coffee, I've even boiled eggs in it!! It cleans up in a jif and doesn't take up space on the stove. It shuts off automatically so you never have to worry about it boiling dry or forgetting about an open flame. Water stays warm for a long time and it's big enough for 3 LARGE mugs of water. You will love this everythingkettle!"

Best Tea Kettle I've ever owned. October 19, 2007
Mike from Santa Rosa, CA

"The price is right, the look is very attractive and I see no sign of wear after 6+ years of almost daily usage. The manufacturer stands behind the product (as does Chef's). When the lid pull-ring snapped off after a guest got a little too exuberant the company replaced the whole lid at no cost. This a favorite in our kitchen."

Can't get rid of the metallic taste February 26, 2009
Brad from Midcoast Maine

Cons: unusable due to bad taste

"Tried everything but could NOT get rid of the metallic taste. Ran numerous pots of water like the manual said - no joy; let full pots of water sit for 48 hrs - no joy; tried same with baking soda - no joy; got desparate and brillo'd inside numerous times - no joy. Ran out of return time so now it sits in storage waiting for some miracle idea to pop up.

Back to the 'ol pot on the stove!"

Well used January 13, 2009
fjcoverson from Snohomish, WA

"I have had my kettle for many years and for fear it may give out I have purchased a second kettle. Well used, I heat water for tea, and to get a jump on boiling stove top water. I also use to scald and rinse my sinks. Great for house guest with a tea caddy, for self serve."

A Must Have January 8, 2009
Choirmom from VA

"Two years ago, I purchased Alton Brown's book "Gear for your Kitchen" in which he highly recommends having an electric kettle in your kitchen. While he uses his much more creatively than I (hard boiling eggs, keeping broth hot for risotto), I absolutely LOVE having this. It heats quickly, the automatic shut-off is wonderful, and it looks great on my counter. It's like having an instant-on hot water tap for tea, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal, and more. I suppose if the lid opening was larger, I might use it to hard boil eggs too, making it a true "Alton Brown multi-tasker," but I'm happy using it in the conventional way. My old calphalon tea kettle has become nothing more than a decorative item on my stovetop!"

My new love! March 20, 2008
Anonymous Reviewer from Moneta, VA

"This is a fabulous product! I love it because I can use it anywhere. The only thing I would change is the very short cord. It doesn't even reach from the kitchen counter to an outlet. However, it boils water quickly and safely.
Fantastic!"

I'm English and love my tea January 6, 2008
Tealover from Corvallis OR

"I use this to make tea several times a day. It heats very quickly and you don't have to fill if full each time. My kitchen is very Euro-contemporary and it looks great on the counter. The only improvement would be to replace the plastic tab on the lid with a metal one. When the tab on the lid broke, my husband replaced it with a thick metal screw and it is now solid as rock. I have had it several years and still going strong."

A "Must Have" for every kitchen! October 25, 2007
Anglophile from Ocean City, NJ

"This tea kettle heats so quickly, it's better and faster than the microwave! I have purchased 4 in the past 8 years....we have two homes and I have given 2 others as gifts. I use it to brew tea, (of course!), but also for many recipes in the kitchen. You'll never want to be without it! It is easy to clean and looks and functions like the day I bought it."
