Essential item

"This is essential for blade storage but does have a poor lock design. Since I don't have small children it wasn't a problem for me and it wouldn't stop me from recommending it. Storage for food processor blades is always a big problem as they are razor sharp so I would still recommend this to everyone who has the need. Frankly, it probably isn't sitting out anyway on most counters so safety from small children isn't a huge issue."

Having the tools ready to hand facilitates use

"Frankly if I had to root around in a cupboard or drawer to find the accessories, I probably would not use my food processor almost daily. This holder sits right on the counter. Wonderful. It is safer, too, as the cutting discs are sharp and this holder protects them and your fingers. I agree with the reviewer who complained about the lock, it is not a good design. I defeated it by locking it closed with the lid up so it is not ever engaged. The lid does not need to be locked for a unit that sits in one spot anyway. From a safety and convenience point of view this holder is a must have."

Terrible lock for a thoughtful tool

"The storage unit is a magnificent idea however the fact that the lock is so touchy and breaks easily is a serious drawback. I did not want to go to the hassle of returning the item and am keeping the cuisinart blades in it with a rubber band around the storage unit."
