The item shipped and was received last week; I have made several loaves since then. The machine is very easy to use. It has many more recipes than our prior unit. Also, it came with measuring cups to make baking even simpler. There is a day sleeper in the house who has not been aroused once by the bread machine...it is a very quiet design. I can't possibly think of anyway to make it better! If you make bread, this item is a must have for your kitchen.

Gave my first breadmaker to my sister and bought this updated version with all the settings and Artisan options I craved. All I have to say is "Don't count me out!" Arthritis made kneading difficult for this bread lover so it was a revelation when I found that a bread machine could allow me to continue making bread. Again I can have the satisfaction of creating a great loaf of sandwich or toasting bread for little effort or cost and I even used it successfully to make my delicious Christmas Stollen and holiday rolls! Using a "Breadman" once or twice a week lets you save money and have more healthful bread with no preservatives. Dispenser adds walnuts and currents to my whole wheat bread at just the right time. If you can measure a few ingredients you can make great bread in the new sideways pan that makes an impressive chunky loaf. I'm going to explore Artisan settings next with Reinhart's book in hand.
Chefscatalog had the best price on this product and with free shipping it could not be beat.

I was very disappointed with this product. The craftsmanship was poor. The finish was poor and when we plugged it in and tried to make a loaf of bread it sounded like the gears were slipping, it made loud popping noises. We unplugged it, put in back in the box and returned it. I would not order another product made by this company.

The delivery was swift and the packing was bulletproof. This is a replacement for an earlier model of the same machine which lasted for nine years of steady service. The addition of the stainless steel body is nice looking but unnecessary. That expense might have better been applied to improvement of the readability of the control panel which is even a little bit poorer than the previous model. That is the only reason I did not give five stars. However, I bought it for performance and that it does deliver.

I made raisen bread. The fruit left the dispenser on time only it didn't mix into the dough. The raisens were in a big lump on the end of the loaf after the baking was complete. Also, the mixing paddle was buried way up into the loaf. I had to dig through the bread to find it. I made another loaf following the directions to the letter . The same thing happened. I am very disappointed with this machine.

I purchased the Salton breadmaker a few weeks ago, I have used it several times since and have been enjoying it so far. It does have a number of recipes but it could use more as well as more tips for converting regular recipes. Perhaps even offer another book as an add on purchase. I've only had two unsucessful runs with this machine otherwise it's been really fun.
I've made bread, caramel rolls, coffee cakes, pizza dough and it's all come out beautifully. It takes a bit of practice but it's been worth it. As some people have stated it does vibrate, however it's a small price to pay for what you get out of it.
It would be nice if the cord were a little longer as well other than that I don't have any complaints.

I have loved this bread maker (always made bread by hand, but since moving to the mountains, haven't been as successful, plus it's just too time consuming!).
The one flaw, and to me it's a big one, is that the paddle usually comes out with the bread (which they said might happen), but when you take it out, it leaves a HUGE hole in the bottom (and middle) of the bread!
Any suggestions, anyone? Otherwise, I've been making one or two loaves a week since I got it two months ago, and they've been great! We love having the smell...and taste...of homemade bread in the house again!

I purchased the Salton Breadman which seemed to be a quality machine. My first issue with it is that it is very difficult to see the display panel unless you are right over it. This is difficult to do because it is a tall machine and then add the counter height, I have to stand on a stool to be directly over it so I can see it. Now onto the real meat, er bread, of the matter. We have yet to produce a single quality loaf of bread. The loaf rises and then falls or overflows the pan. We have cut the yeast in half with some improvement. I would much rather make my bread from scratch but since I haven't had the time lately, my husband will use this as a substitute. The taste of the bread from the recipe in the book is also greatly lacking.

I got this bread maker last week and have already made cinnamon roll dough and hot roll dough. It does a terrific job with the dough. It incorporates all the ingredients thoroughly unlike other bread makers I have had. I can't wait to bake a loaf of bread and see how it turns out. Excellent product!

i purchased this bread maker five months ago. waited this long to see if it is as good as they said it was going to be. i have went through six bread makers so far in all the years i hae been baking bread, i have been baking bread for over 30 years. this is the best bread maker i have ever purchased. i make two to three loafes of bread a day. it also makes great dough for my cinnemian rolls and hambuger buns and hot dog buns as well. if you are looking for a great bread maker. buy this one you will not be sorry at all. i want to thank the sales man that answered all of my questions when i called about this bread machine. i sure am glad that i purchased this bread machine. sorry about the mis spelled words.

I have used this bread machine 3 times and it works well I do have some questions about the convection fan because I have not heard it and wonder if it even works? The bread is very nice and you do have to play with the recipe it is different than my last one.

I have had bread makers through out my life and recently wore one out and needed a replacement. This breadmaker and its recipes are the worst ever. I returned the machine last week after trying it 4 times and having a mess all 4 times. It threw dough all over inside of machine when using the ratio of water and flour the first time. The next times I adjusted the ratios and all the loaves rose beautifully and then fell when baking. It basically baked bricks of bird feed bread.

Bought this for my husband, so he could make salt-free bread and it is definitely better than the last one we had. Very quiet and super easy to clean. And it looks great on the counter, too!
